Incubation Program for Rural Women Entrepreneurs (InPRuWE) is funded by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) India and being implemented by the Bala Vikasa Center for Social and Responsible Business (BVCSRB), Hyderabad. InPRuWE’s primary focus is to incubate rural women micro-entrepreneurs along with women students of tier 2 cities. The vision of the program is to improve entrepreneurial abilities and provide them with fruitful knowledge exchange, financial stability and independence.

The program is incorporated with the series of workshops, field visits, exposure visits, establishing network and opportunities for rural women entrepreneurs. The student participants are playing the role of enablers and facilitators in this whole process. The uniqueness of the program is the knowledge and experience exchange between the stakeholders both vertically and horizontally.

The program is implemented in Warangal, Telangana with major activities centered at the People Development and Training Center (PDTC) of Bala Vikasa in Warangal. Under the program, a total of 125 rural women entrepreneurs and 25 women students (pursuing MBA) have been enrolled for incubation from Warangal, Telangana. The duration of the program is ten months starting from September 2018 to June 2019.

About BVCSRB

Bala Vikasa Center for Social and Responsible Business (BVCSRB) was founded in 2014. It is a center for responsible entrepreneurship that functions as a platform for mutually enriching partnerships between the corporates, entrepreneurs, and society. It aims to assist and uplift the social/impact startups that are working towards the betterment of the communities via their projects.

BVCSRB promotes integrated incubation and a customized social and business environment. It actively supports social innovation and collaborative partnerships to help achieve a larger impact. It also helps businesses in creating effective CSR strategies and meaningful programs.

The parent organization of BVCSRB is SOPAR that is based in Canada and the Indian limb of the organization is popular as Bala Vikasa, headquartered in the Warangal district of Telangana. SOPAR-Bala Vikasa has been diligently devoted to sustainable development in India.

About CFLI

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) provides direct funding assistance to local non-governmental organizations and international NGOs for small projects addressing gender equality and women empowerment, democratic governance, climate change and environmental sustainability, security and stability and other issues.

For over three decades, Canada has funded modest development assistance projects in developing countries through the CFLI. It is a program that supports small projects proposed and implemented by local NGOs and other grassroots organizations. It also serves to strengthen Canada’s relationships with civil society and local communities, to build networks of contacts in countries around the world.
